200 LIXIL Thailand Employees Celebrated Community Day Participated in community service activities across Saraburi, Rayong & Pathum Thani provinces

13 November 2020, Bangkok LIXIL is a maker of pioneering water and housing products that solve everyday, real–life challenges, making better homes a reality for everyone, everywhere. Today LIXIL Thailand celebrated its 3rd Community Day, an annual corporate responsibility initiative was observed across LIXIL globally. In Thailand, over two hundred LIXIL employees, participated in community activities across three provinces. These activities included the renovation of Mabka Temple and Wang Sapparod Temple in Rayong; painting, and fixing of toilets in Wat Khon Cha Ngok School in Saraburi; and donation of sanitaryware appliances to Rangsit Babies’ Home at Klong 5 in Pathum Thani amongst others.

Audrey Yeo, General Manager, LWT, LIXIL (Thailand) Public Company, during the media briefing scheduled for , said; LIXIL is a purposedriven organization. LIXIL Groups Corporate Responsibility strategy focuses on three key strategic pillars where we can make the biggest difference. Aligned with the UNs Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), these pillars are Global Sanitation and Hygiene, Water Conservation and Environmental Sustainability, and Diversity and Inclusion.

As part of LIXIL Groups efforts to improve Global Sanitation and Hygiene, we will continue to cater to the needs of an estimated 2 billion people who do not have access to basic sanitation. LIXIL remains firmly committed to its goal of improving sanitation for 100 million people by 2025.

Community Day is one of the many initiatives by LIXIL to show our commitment to creating sustainable living in the communities we operate in.”

Launched in 2017, the LIXIL Community Day initiative is celebrated in October each year. During this month employees across LIXIL take part in corporate citizenship activities by brainstorming and choosing activities with optimum goals within their community. Into its 3rd consecutive year, LIXIL Community Day saw the global participation numbers almost double from the previous years.

In Thailand, LIXIL has paid importance to the well–being and hygiene of the consumers and those who don’t have access to sanitation. In 2018, LIXIL partnered with UNICEF, to raise funds to help children gain access to safe and clean toilets through “Make A Splash” campaign.

During the COVID–19 pandemic, LIXIL distributed 50,000 bottles of sanitizers to business partners and consumers. It also supported hospitals, the Department of Health (Ministry of Public Health), the Department of Children and Youth and the Department of Older Persons under the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, the military barracks in the three southern border provinces (Pattani 25 Task Force) and Wat Don Chan Orphanage in Chiang Mai.

Audrey further added; “COVID19 has significantly altered the course of the world as we knew it. As we learn to accept this new normal, we must learn to maintain high standards of hygiene. Being a leader in the industry we at LIXIL believe it is our responsibility to support communities through our state of art products, cutting edge technology and educate everyone about the importance of Hygiene and Sustainability.”
